SOME TYPES OF SNAKES IN THE AMAZON FOREST
The Amazon is home to many diverse snake species. Some types of snakes found in the Amazon rainforest include:
1. Anaconda Snake: Anaconda is the largest snake in the world and can be found in the Amazon. There are two main species, namely the green Anaconda (Eunectes murinus) and the yellow Anaconda (Eunectes notaeus). The green anaconda is the largest and can reach a length of over 7 meters.
2. Boa Snake: Boas are a type of snake that is strong and large in size. Boa constrictors such as Boa constrictor (Boa constrictor) can be found on Amazon.
3. Venomous Snakes: The Amazon is also home to several types of dangerous venomous snakes, including krait snakes, corrosive snakes, and flower snakes. One of the most dangerous is the Brazilian flower snake (Bothrops jararaca).
4. Sea Snakes: Along the coast of the Amazon, you can find several species of sea snakes, such as the Black sea snake (Lachesis melanocephala) and the Yellow sea snake (Lachesis muta).
5. Tree Snakes: Many species of tree snakes live in the Amazon rainforest, such as the Green tree snake (Bothriechis schlegelii) and the golden tree snake (Bothriechis aurifer).
6. Jungle Snakes: Amazon jungle snakes include species like Cane snake (Chironius) and Leaf snake (Imantodes). They usually live on forest ground or on tree branches.
7. Water Snakes: Amazonian water snakes include species like the Pering water snake (Hydrodynastes gigas) and the Green water snake (Philodryas viridissimus). They are often found along rivers and wetlands.
